Conduction & Combustion Dry Herb Vaporizers
Conduction and combustion dry herb vaporizers are a more practical (and more affordable) version of vaporizers, especially when compared to currently popular convection vaporizers. Convection vaporizers (those using heated air to “cook” the herb instead of heating it directly or burning it) are all the rage now but they do have their drawbacks:- Thanks to the advanced tech they’re using, these “no-burn” vapes are usually much more expensive than regular, conduction vaporizers.
- There’s a lot of wait time in between hits with convection vapes - you need to prime the device before drawing to allow the air temperature enough time to cook your herb.
- Most convection vaporizers are not portable; they are bulky desktop units - Kind Pen’s TruVa 2 Mini is one of the rare pocket convection vapes that doesn’t break the bank.
Find the Best Conduction and Combustion Vaporizers at The Kind Pen
Conduction and combustion vaporizers work differently than vapes that use convection in that they either burn the herb or the herb comes in direct contact with the heating material.Obviously then, there’s a marked difference between combustion and conduction vaporizers - one is an actual vaporizer (conduction) and the other is a vaporizer just in name (combustion). Combustion vaporizers don’t produce vapor, they produce smoke because the material actually gets burned in them.Let’s take a closer look at two example products that we offer here at the Kind pen.V2 Portable Vape - A Conduction Dry Herb Vaporizer
The V2 is one of our flagship products and a tri-use vaporizer, which means that it can be used to vape on dry herbs, concentrates, and even e-liquids. This is accomplished by using three different adapters that can be swapped out, depending on what material you’ll use the device with. The benefits of using this conduction dry herb vaporizer are:- It’s simple to use - V2 is operated with a single button and doesn’t have too many moving parts that you’ll need to fiddle with (apart from the adapters). This means that you can be a complete vaping beginner and still get a satisfying hit with this device.
- Heats up quickly - there’s no ramp-up wait time during which the device heats up to the desired temperature. Once you’ve packed the chamber with your herb, you’re ready to vape with the press of a button.
- Works with different materials - this is a great all-in-one vaporizer designed for those who frequently switch between vaping materials. Whether you’re in the mood for e-liquid, concentrates, or herbs, the V2 vaporizer has you covered.
- It’s affordable - considering how versatile and easy to use the V2 is, it’s a real bargain. You will be hard-pressed to find a conduction herb vaporizer that performs this well for anywhere near this price.

How To Use Your Conduction Vaporizer?
We already mentioned that using a convection vape is a bit on the labor-intensive side as you have to preheat your device, and then allow it to build up the temp between taking puffs.Conduction vaporizers are much easier to use but we’d be remiss not to mention that there are some things you can do to get them to work better. Of course, burners or “combustion vaporizers” are super easy - since you’re basically just burning your herb, there’s no need to go through any special set-up.For conduction vapes, such as the V2, these 5 tips will come in handy if you want to make your every puff count.- Always use fresh herb - the reason why you always want to use fresh herb with a conduction vaporizer is that it needs to have a bit of moisture in it to cook properly. If you’re using dry herb, you’re going to get a very smoky and harsh vapor as a result. Here’s a little tip - if your bud feels a bit dry, add a small piece of lemon skin to the ziplock back (that contains the herb) and leave it in overnight!
- Make sure the grind is right - aim for medium grind; not too coarse and not too fine. Finely ground herbs will jump around in the chamber, and there’s a chance it might get into the mouthpiece, and big lumps will not cook all the way through properly. But, if you grind into medium-sized pieces, you’re going to have a very pleasurable vape session!
- Pack your chamber tight - but not too tight! Getting the packing just right will allow all the herb to cook right through, and you won’t have too much waste. If you go overboard, you might notice that some of it ends up in your mouth - next time, put less herb in!
- Inhale slowly and deliberately - make sure to take shallow, slow drags when vaping. If you inhale too quickly (or with force) there’s a chance that a piece of your material will get stuck in your mouthpiece, obstructing the airflow. That’s going to ruin that session for you as now you have to take things apart and clear the blockage. But, if your drags are nice and easy, you’re going to get large, warm clouds and the “high” effect you’re looking for.
- Clean your vaporizer regularly - after every use, make sure to give your dry herb vaporizer a quick rub down, cleaning the mouthpiece and the chamber. Every week or so (depending on how often you use it), you might go in for a more thorough cleaning that involves cotton q-tips and rubbing alcohol. This way, you’re ensuring that nothing will clog up and that the flavor will always be on point.
