Toker’s Guide to Halloween: 9 #KIND Approved Spooky Activities & Snacks

The spookiest night of them all is just around the corner—seriously, it is: you might think you have time to burn but it will be here in a flash—and it’s time you plan cannabis-themed Halloween everything!

I used to go big when it came to All Hallows Eve, so trust me when I say I know how to plan a mean shindig.

In this post, I’ll share my favorite—so think of them as #KIND-approved—decorations, activities, and treats for the night.

Whether you and your crew are into cramming you bud into a dry herb vaporizer, smoking it, or stuffing it in the oven, there’s something here for you.

#1 Think Lights, But Not Christmas

Turn your home into a haunted shack by decking it out with an array of ghostly decorations. Lighting the key, but there’s so much more you can do:

• flickering light bulbs and string lights in greens (nothing too Christmas-y)

• glow-in-the-dark decor but instead of skeletons, think cannabis leaf

• garlands made with cannabis leaves and flower, with rolling paper details

• old rolling trays or stash boxes repurposed as spooky serving platters

#2 Hotbox for Spooky Atmosphere

Create your own haunted retreat by turning your Halloween space into a foggy, spook-filled cavern. Just blaze up a strain of choice (X10) and get the party started.

Granted, this works best in small rooms—and when you’re 20-something and not gasping for air as it is like me in my forties, so not for me anymore, thank you very much—but a good workaround for bigger spaces is simply renting a fog machine for the night.

#3 Make a Jack-O’-Lantern Bong

Don’t make the rookie mistake of settling for ordinary jack-o-lanterns when you can innovate with a cannabis twist.

Got a gourd?

Carve it out as you normally would, then insert a mouthpiece and downstem for a customized experience. I find that our OG Jams glass downstem works a treat, but you can go with a metal piece, too. The trick to a good pumpkin bong is a fresh gourd and airtight holes. Personally, I use bigger vape device o-rings that I fit around the downstem and the mouthpiece to ensure really tight pulls.

#4 Bob for Edibles

Ah, the old ‘bobbing for apples’ but with a cannabis twist. I’ll be straight with you: have not done this in the past, but it’s on my to-do list for this Halloweed.

You can quickly google the original game, but here’s the gist:

You blindfold your buddies and let them take turns plunging their faces into a water-and-edibles-filled bucket. Make it a big bucket, just for laughs. And then you just watch the hilarity ensue as they try to snag stuff with their teeth.

For my version, I plan to drop in individual gummies so that every successful catch becomes a potent prize consumed then and there. #5 Strain & Scare Pairings

Stretch out your Halloween over a few days by planning different activities and pairing them with some of your favorite strains.

The catch?

The strain you choose should be tailored to the activity you’re doing. This is a fun challenge that requires you to reach deep into your past cannabis experiences… or do some diligent research.  

For example, your strain ‘tasting menu’ can feature strains paired with different movie genres, creative endeavors, and physical activities. Here’s a few ideas:

#6 Tasty Canna Treats

Gather your friends for a mysterious and laughter-filled murder mystery night or dive into more horrific stories discovering Lovecraftian mythos.
